Canada Man Dies Without Sharing Password for $190 Million in Cryptocurrency

Think you have cryptocurrency fever? Customers at a Canadian exchange can’t get their hands on $190 million bitcoin and other forms electronic cash. That’s because the company’s head honcho died unexpectedly without sharing his password. Gerald Cotten, CEO of crypto exchange QuadrigaCX died in December during a trip to India. The 30-year-old passed away due to complications related to Crohn’s disease, according to the company. He was reportedly the only person who knew the password to “cold wallets” where some exchange customers’ cryptocurrency was stored.
